Traffic
The Department of Public Works ensures the safe and orderly flow of cars and pedestrians throughout the city by providing and maintaining an efficient roadway system. This is accomplished through both traffic engineering and planning as well as maintenance activities.
Engineering
The Public Works Engineering Division strives to earn the confidence and respect of road users through the use of sound engineering practices and established engineering standards. In addition to conducting activities such as studies on stop sign and traffic signal requests and speed designations, the Engineering Division also serves as staff support to the City of Monterey Park Traffic Commission.
Maintenance
The Public Works Maintenance Services Division works to respond rapidly and effectively to the transportation maintenance needs throughout the City. In addition to installing and maintaining all traffic signs throughout the city, Maintenance Services also is responsible for painting all pavement markings throughout the city such as center line
For traffic or parking related concerns, please email the Traffic Investigation form to Public Works staff for review and consideration.
