About Citizens Academy
Citizens Academy is a dynamic, exciting, and informative 11-week course, which is designed to provide Monterey Park residents with an interactive, hands-on, comprehensive overview of the Monterey Park Police Department. Class time includes an introduction to the Detective Bureau, police communications, patrol procedures, and various other department programs.
Applications and information can be obtained at the Monterey Park Police Department, Community Relations Bureau, 320 West Newmark Avenue in Monterey Park, or downloaded here. Applicants must be at least 16 years of age. Minors under the age of 18 must have a signed parental consent form. Participants cannot have any felony convictions, be on parole or probation, or have been arrested for a misdemeanor within the past year.
Due to the popularity and success of the Citizens Academy Program, it is recommended that you apply as soon as possible. All completed applications must be returned to the Community Relations Bureau. For further information, please contact the Community Relations Bureau at 626-307-1215.
