Swim Lessons Summer 2023 - Thank You For a Great Summer!

No refunds or make-ups allowed for swim lessons.  All fees will increase July 1st per City Council resolution no. 11771.

We offer a number of courses in which the objective is to teach people to swim and to be safe in, on and around the water. Our Learn-to-Swim programs are the most comprehensive and effective programs of their kind available anywhere.

Saturday Swim Lessons - 5 consecutive Saturdays, 50 mins per session (Total of 250 mins)

Weekday Swim Lessons - Monday - Friday for 2 weeks (10 days), 25 mins per session (Total of 250 mins)

Learn-to-Swim

The seven learn-to-swim levels and the objectives for each level include:

PARENT & TOT

Prerequisite: Parent/Guardian is required to accompany child into the water during class time.

Parents and children (ages 6 months up to 5 years) learn together to increase a child’s comfort level in the water and build a foundation of basic skills, such as arm and leg movements and breath control.

LEVEL I: WATER EXPLORATION

Prerequisite: None

Introduction to Water Skills: helps students feel comfortable in the water and to enjoy the water safely.

LEVEL II: PRIMARY SKILLS

Prerequisite: Completion of Level 1: Water Exploration

Fundamental Aquatic Skills: gives students success with fundamental skills.

LEVEL III: STROKE READINESS

Prerequisite: Completion of Level II: Primary Skills.

Stroke Foundation: builds on the skills in Level 2 by providing additional guided practice.

LEVEL IV: STROKE DEVELOPMENT

Prerequisite: Completion of Level III: Stroke Readiness.

Stroke Development: develops confidence in the strokes learned and to improve other aquatic skills.

LEVEL V: STROKE REFINEMENT

Prerequisite: Completion of Level IV: Stroke Development.

Stroke Refinement: provides further coordination and refinement of strokes.

LEVEL VI: STROKE PROFICIENCY

Prerequisite: Completion of Level V: Stroke Refinement.

Swimming and Skill Proficiency: refines the strokes so students swim them with ease, efficiency, power and smoothness over greater distances. Level 6 is designed with "menu" options. Each of these options focuses on preparing students to participate in more advanced courses, such as Water Safety Instructor and Lifeguard Training. These options include:

•    Fundamentals of Diving

•    Fitness Swimming
