Water Meter Replacement Schedule

About the Project

The City of Monterey Park is in the process of replacing and upgrading all 13,500 water meters citywide. Construction is estimated to take place in a 12 month period from fall 2025 to fall 2026. Installation Procedures and Who to Contact

Customers who are scheduled in the current round of construction will be notified in advance and receive a door hanger with the following information:

  • The City of Monterey Park is working with Professional Meters Inc. (PMI) to replace the water meters in our community.
  • Our contractor will be coming by within the upcoming weeks to upgrade your water meter.
  • You do not have to be present for the upgrade and your water service will be shut off for approximately 15 minutes.
  • Please make sure we have access to your meter. If you have a meter behind a locked gate or your meter is inaccessible, please call PMI at: 1-855-229-5562 (toll free) to schedule an appointment to replace your meter. Hours of operation are 8:30 a.m.–4:30 p.m., Monday–Friday. 
  • If you are experiencing any issues after the new meter installation and need assistance, please call PMI at 855-229-5562 (toll free).
  • Call center assistance is available in English, Spanish and Chinese.

Current and Upcoming Area Maps

The below two maps indicate:

  • Current meter replacement work for December 8-12.  The meter replacement work area covers the neighborhood north of West Garvey Avenue between North Atlantic Boulevard and North Huntington Drive. It includes the blocks around West Emerson and West Hellman, as well as the cross streets such as North Ynez, North Moore, North Chandler, North Baltimore, and North McPherrin, where individual service addresses are scheduled for water meter replacement.
  • Upcoming meter replacement work for December 19 - 20. The meter replacement work area covers the residential neighborhoods between West Garvey Avenue and the hillside streets around West El Repetto Drive and Mira Valle, and from South Fremont / South Electric Avenue across to South Ynez Avenue and Atlantic Boulevard. It includes the local streets in between, where individual service addresses are scheduled for water meter replacement as part of the City’s AMI project.
