This project is divided into three phases and involves the removal of existing pavement and the application of new pavement on various city streets. Also, the project will include concrete work such as the replacement of sidewalk, curb ramps, curbs, and gutters. On June 15, 2022 the City awarded a Public Works Contract to All American Asphalt in the amount of $8,023,641 for Year 1 of the project and started in Summer 2022 and was completed in Summer 2023. On June 7, 2023 the City awarded a Public Works Contract to All American Asphalt in the amount of $6,865,699 for Year 2 of the project and started in Summer 2023 and is expected to end in Fall 2023. On October 4, 2023 the City awarded a Public Works Contract to All American Asphalt in the amount of $1,625,000 for Year 3 of the project and is expected to start in Spring 2024 and is expected to end in Summer 2024 |

This project consists of replacement of a water main pipe along Monterey Pass Road between the intersections of Vagabond Drive and Brightwood Street. Recurring water main leaks along this area resulted in extensive infrastructure damage to the roadway and water main pipe repairs are needed to ensure continued water service to residences and businesses in the area. On August 17, 2022, City Council adopted Resolution No. 2022-R69 authorizing the City Manager to take necessary measures for emergency repair. The catch basin device installation project consists of installing Connector Pipe Screen (CPS) units to city-owned and county-owned catch basins at various locations. These CPS devices are used to prevent the trash from entering the storm drain system during dry weather and moderate storm flows by keeping trash and debris inside the catch basin. Phase 1 included the installation of CPS units in 130 county-owned catch basins. Phase 2 includes installation at an additional 100 catch basin locations. On January 18, 2023 the City approved the First Amendment to Public Works Contract with United Storm Water to retrofit an additional 100 catch basins for a revised contract amount of $199,395. |

The ATP Cycle 4 is part of the Active Transportation Program which consists of adding safety enhancements for pedestrians at various locations in the city. This includes restriping of streets, replacing and adding signs, adding solar powered flashing signs for pedestrian crosswalks, and adding ADA compliant pedestrian curb ramp with truncated domes. On December 7, 2022 the City awarded a Public Works Contract to California Professional Engineering Inc. in the amount of $1,360,870 for this project. |

The proposed project includes replacement approximately 13,000 feet of existing water pipe with bigger size along the following streets: 1)Garvey from Alhambra to New; 2) Emerson from Garfield to Alhambra; 3) Lincoln from Emerson to Hellman; 4) Nicholson from Emerson to Hellman; 5) Garfield from Garvey to Hellman; 6) Garvey from Garfield to Alhambra; 7) Lincoln from Garvey to Emerson, and 8) Nicholson from Garvey to Emerson. On March 1, 2023 the City awarded a Public Works Contract to Big Ben, Inc. in the amount of $2,251,600 for this project. |

The proposed work includes constructing new ADA curb ramps, repairing residential sidewalk, bus pad replacements and other repairs as needed. Additionally nuisance trees that have caused infrastructure damaged may be removed and replaced with less intrusive trees. On June 7, 2023 the City awarded a Public Works Contract to CT&T Concrete Paving, Inc., in the amount of $1,571, 233 for this project. |

The proposed project focuses on the construction of continuous bicycle facilities (Class II-III bike lanes), missing sidewalks, roadway rehabilitation, ADA compliant curb ramps, and pedestrian improvements along the specified corridor. These improvements will enhance safety conditions and provide an active transportation connectivity that is currently missing between the neighboring cities and County. The project will upgrade the traffic signal system, and other components at major north-south and east-west corridors to improve the traffic operations and mobility in the City. These improvements will be planned and developed in conjunction with adjacent cities to ensure that traffic operations are coordinated through major corridors within the SR-710 area. The SB1 road improvement project is funded through the Road Maintenance and Rehabilitation Account (RMRA) fund. The work includes cold milling and removal of the existing asphalt pavement and constructing a rubberized asphalt overlay, adjusting utility covers to grade; constructing new ADA curb ramps; repairing residential sidewalk, restoring traffic striping and pavement markings; and providing and maintaining traffic control during construction. Impacted residents may experience temporary traffic control devices, lane closures, detours, parking enforcement and temporary limited driveway access. On November 15, 2023 the City awarded a Public Works Contract to All American Asphalt in the amount of $1, 200,000 for this project. |

This project is in partnership with the LA County Public Works Department. The budget request is for the City's share of the project. The proposed scope of work in the City's jurisdiction includes: Cold Mill the existing Asphalt Concrete (AC) pavement full width 2 inches in depth; Construct an inch thick AC leveling course (D2-PG-64-10) over the entire cold milled surface; Construct 1 inch of Tire Ribber Modified Asphalt Concrete (C2-PG 64-28M) over the leveling course; Remove and replace one damaged bus pad. |
