Teen Program: Graduation Craft

The Junior Friends, a teen volunteer organization, hosts a program each month to serve youth at Monterey Park Bruggemeyer Library. Do you have the urge to create? Are you a tinker at heart? Come check out our “Graduation” themed youth program. No registration is required and supplies will be provided.

Join the library’s Anime and Manga Club and watch the latest Anime releases, meet other Otaku and discuss new titles for the library.

Teen Activities

The 2019 Teen Summer Reading Program runs from June 10 through July 31. As teens read books over the summer they receive coupons for a free DVD checkout and can use the coupons to enter drawings for various prizes. The Teen Summer Reading Program also features activities and movies provided for teens, by teens for free throughout the summer.

Teen Summer Movies

It's 1987 and the robot car Bumblebee is looking for a place to take refuge on earth. The damaged car hides out at a California junkyard where a teenager named Charlie eventually discovers the Transformer. However, Charlie also learns that Sector 7, a government agency, is trying to hunt them down. In addition, she finds that there are other Transformers on Earth besides Bumblebee and those others may have evil intentions during their stay on the planet. The movie is rated PG13 and runs 142 minutes.

In a distant future, a Great War has caused horrific changes to the world's landscape resulting in near-constant natural disasters and people live in major cities modified with huge engines and traction-style wheels so that they can move everything rapidly to a safer area as disasters strike. The movie is rated PG13 and runs 129 minutes.
