Explore the great outdoors with a Monterey Park Bruggemeyer Library Parks Pack. Whether you're new, or seasoned, to hiking, camping or birdwatching, a Parks Pack will help you discover the natural beauty from your own backyard.The Monterey Park Bruggemeyer Library Parks Packs was supported in whole or in part by funding provided by the State of California, administered by the California State Library.
A Parks Pack is a backpack patrons can borrow and take on their next outdoor adventure. Inside each Parks Pack are the following items:
- Backpack
- Parks Pack Contents Folder
- Birds of California Field Guide
- 101 Hikes in Southern California book
- Hiking poles
- Compass
- Flashlight w/ charging cable

Where do I go to check out a Parks Pack?
Visit the Circulation Desk during normal business hours.
Who can check out a Parks Pack?
Patrons ages 18 and older with a valid library card and signed Parks Pass user agreement (PDF) on file may check out a Parks Pack.
Where can I get a Parks Pack Agreement?
Download the Parks Pack user agreement (PDF) or visit the Circulation Desk.
How long can I keep a Parks Pack?
Park packs can be checked out for three weeks and renewed for an additional three weeks.
Can I place a hold on a Parks Pack?
At this time, Parks Packs are available on a first come, first serve basis. Holds may not be placed on Parks Packs.
Can I check out a Parks Pack and a Parks Pass?
Absolutely! Patrons are encouraged to take their Parks Pack outdoors so check out a Parks Pass as well. Learn more about the California State Library Parks Pass program.
