On December 5, 2019, at approximately 1:16 p.m., Monterey Park Police officers responded to a call of a firearm, which was found on the outside perimeter of the Repetto Elementary School campus. In an abundance of caution, Repetto Elementary School and the surrounding area was searched both by police officers and an article detection canine. No additional weapons were located and there have been no known threats made to the school.
The Monterey Park Police Department and Alhambra Unified School District have an excellent working relationship and take the safety and security of students and school staff very seriously. An additional search of the campus will be conducted before school resumes on Friday, December 6, 2019 and the Monterey Park Police Department will provide extra patrol and visibility on and around the campus.
The Monterey Park Police Department Detective Bureau is investigating this incident.
