[ARCHIVED] Arrest of Two Males for Suspicion of Armed Robbery on South Atlantic Boulevard

On July 24, 2018 at approximately 9:30 a.m., an armed robbery occurred in the 700 block of S. Atlantic Boulevard in the City of Monterey Park. Two suspects fled the scene in silver Ford Explorer. A description of the suspect vehicle and the two suspects was provided to responding officers. A responding officer located a vehicle matching the description in the area and a traffic stop was conducted. Two suspects were detained without incident. Property, cash, and weapons used during the commission of the robbery were recovered. The suspects were arrested and booked for armed robbery (211PC).

The suspects are identified as:

Alton McCurtis Phillips, 21, of South Pasadena.

The second suspect is a 16 year old male and his name is being withheld.

Phillips is being held on $100,000 bail. He was set to appear in the Alhambra Superior Court on Thursday July 26, 2018 for arraignment.
