The City of Monterey Park will unveil a centennial monument and a time capsule plaque on Tuesday, November 29 at 5:30 p.m. at city hall. The public is invited to attend the ceremony which will also honor centennial event sponsors such as Agnes Arakawa and Transtech Engineering. Refreshments will be served at the conclusion of the event.
In tribute to the city’s 100th birthday that occurred in May 2016, the centennial monument and time capsule ceremonies are one of the last events celebrating the city’s birthday this year. Other 2016 centennial events and/or commemorations included a citywide street pole banner program, Art & Culture Gala, essay contest, centennial coin, summer concert series, Pajama Fun Run/Walk 5K, short film festival and the Reflections Dinner.
