Get Rid of the Clutter at MPK’s Free Spring Cleaning Event

The City of Monterey Park and Athens Services are offering MPK residents (ID or bill required) an opportunity to clean up their unwanted items that are cluttering space in the home, garage or basement. Used household appliances and fixtures, rugs, mattresses, broken toys and old clothing are examples of things that can be dropped off. Hazardous waste is not accepted. Electronic waste, such as a TV, is considered hazardous and will not be accepted. For information on how to dispose of those hazardous items call LA County at 800-98-TOXIC or visit www.CleanLA.com.

Additionally, the city will provide free paper shredding at the event.  Paper shredding services will be provided on a first come, first served basis beginning at 8 a.m. until the truck is filled.

The spring cleaning event is a special, one-time free event. Residents can also have bulky items picked up from the curbside if they call Athens Services at 888-336-6100. Bulky item pick-ups must be pre-arranged through Athens Services. Any items left abandoned on the curb can be subject to a notice of violation from Monterey Park Code Enforcement.
