Monterey Park Tree Memorial Award Nomination Period Now Open
Nominations for the 2020 Tree Memorial Award are now being accepted through February 28th. The Tree Memorial Award was created to recognize individuals who have made a significant positive impact on the community.
This prestigious award is reserved for an individual who has demonstrated the highest level of community involvement and can be awarded to a person living or deceased. Nominations will be reviewed by an ad hoc committee of Community Participation and Recreation and Park Commissioners.
The committee will make their recommendation to the Monterey Park City Council. Following City Council approval a recognition ceremony will take place, honoring the individuals with plaques installed under designated trees.
Groups or individuals who wish to nominate an individual must complete the application process. Applications are available online or at the Recreation and Community Services Department inside Monterey Park City Hall (320 W. Newmark Ave).
Deadline for submission of application and all materials is Friday, February 28, 2020 by 4:30pm.
