Holiday Snow Village Delivers 20 Tons of Winter Fun and Festivities to Barnes Park
Monterey Park’s seventh annual Holiday Snow Village event will feature a tree lighting, snow sled runs, holiday music and pictures with Santa - all at the Barnes Park Amphitheater. On Friday, December 6, join us at 6 p.m. as we welcome Santa with carols and help him light the Monterey Park tree.
Following the tree lighting, attendees will be entertained by holiday music, snow play with two sled runs and a 900 square foot play area. The event will also have refreshments, a chance to take your picture with Santa and a Christmas tree raffle. Remember to dress warm for this outdoor event and wear closed toe shoes to play in the snow. In addition to Santa, look for special appearances by The Grinch.
Past Holiday entertainment has included performances by local schools such as Rice Elementary, Schurr High, St. Stephen Martyr, Garvey Intermediate, Garfield High, Cantwell Sacred Heart of Mary and Mark Keppel High.
New for 2019: Bring Your Letters to Santa!
Drop off your letters to Santa at the Holiday Snow Village! All children are invited to send a letter to Santa Claus at the North Pole in care of the Holiday Snow Village event. If you include a return address, Santa has promised to answer all the letters received. Look for Santa’s special holiday mailbox at the event.
Letters can also be mailed to or dropped off at Santa’s mailbox inside the Monterey Park City Hall lobby. Be sure to include a return address for Santa’s reply; letters must be received by the city hall elves by 4:30 p.m. on Friday, December 6. Mailing address and drop-off location: Santa Claus, C/O City of Monterey Park Recreation & Community Services Department, 320 W. Newmark Ave., Monterey Park, CA 91754.
We hope that you and your family will join us for this perfect start to the holiday season. For more information, please contact the Recreation and Community Services Department at Recreation Department or 626-307-1388.
