    PICKLEBALL 101 The City of Monterey Park, Recreation and Community Services Department will be offering two free pickleball clinics. Come out and learn the basic fundamentals of Pickleball and strategies for competitive play. Pickleball is a paddle sport that combines elements of badminton, tennis, and table tennis. Recreation staff will be onsite to provide you with the equipment and will teach you the rules of this fun sport. Clinics are open to all ages and minors must be accompanied by a parent/guardian. All participants will be required to sign a waiver.

  1. Preschool Storytime

    September 17, 2019, 12:00 PM - 12:30 PM @ Library Storytime Room

    Children attending must be between the ages of three and five. This program is designed for active toddlers and young children who are able to focus their attention for longer periods of time. The books are short and often invite action and participation. Parents / caregivers must attend and are encouraged to join in the fun.

  2. Homework Help

    Free homework assistance is available to elementary school children who need help with their homework while in the library. Students may bring in assignments and receive help from high school volunteers. No registration is required, but parents must remain with their children-this is not a drop off program.

    Family Storytime is for all ages. Featured stories vary in length, some encourage active listening while others invite participation. We incorporate some of our favorite songs or rhymes and a circle dance at the end of each program. Parents / caregivers must attend and are expected to participate and model good listening skills for their children.
