On October 20, 2021 at approximately 12:09 a.m., Monterey Park Police officers responded to a traffic collision that occurred in the 100 block of S. Atlantic Boulevard.
Officers discovered that a solo vehicle traveling northbound on Atlantic Boulevard collided into a wall and came to rest on its roof. One occupant in the vehicle was extracted by the Monterey Park Fire Department and transported to Los Angeles County Medical Center with major injuries. A second occupant was partially ejected from the vehicle. He succumbed to his injuries at scene and his identification is pending notification of the next of kin.
This collision is an active investigation being conducted by the Monterey Park Police Department Traffic Bureau.
