Starting Wednesday, December 30, 2020, small businesses in California can apply for grants of up to $25,000 through the California State Small Business COVID-19 Relief Grant Program
The first round of grants opens at 8:00 a.m. on Wednesday, December 30, and closes at 11:59 p.m. on January 8, with approvals announced starting January 13.
Grant amounts will vary from $5,000 to $25,000 depending on the applicants’ annual gross revenue. Nonprofit organizations are also eligible to apply.
Opening date for the second round is still to be determined, but applicants who submit their application and documentation in the first round do not need to reapply. Qualified applications will be automatically rolled-over into the next funding round for consideration.
The grants are part of Governor Gavin Newsom’s $500 million relief program announced on November 30, 2020.
