Grants of $5,000-$20,000 to small business owners to help meet their most immediate needs are available from Local Initiatives Support Corporation (LISC). Eligible expenses include:
Paying rent and utilities
Meeting payroll
Paying outstanding debt to vendors
Upgrading technology infrastructure
Other immediate operational costs
Grant recipients will receive one year of business technical assistance post-grant to help further ensure their survival over the long-term.
The Local Initiatives Support Corporation (LISC) of Los Angeles, a non-profit organization, has partnered with Lowe’s along with other philanthropic partners to oversee and manage the Lowe’s Small Business Emergency Grant Assistance Program.
LISC will deploy grants to help small businesses bridge the financial gap and provide guidance to help them navigate the intricate web of public and private resources now available. LISC will focus these efforts on historically underserved communities, especially those enterprises owned or led by minorities and women, who often lack access to affordable capital.
