MPK News Release-COVID-19 Small Business Assistance Program Reopens 7-24-20

Monterey Park small business owners who have been economically impacted by COVID-19 are invited to apply for the City’s COVID-19 Small Business Assistance Program starting Friday, July 24, 2020 at 8:00 a.m. 

These programs are provided by the Coronavirus Aid, Relief and Economic Security Act (CARES) and Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funds through the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). 

2020 COVID-19 Small Business Assistance Program (SBAP)
The COVID-19 Small Business Assistance Program (SBAP) is designed to address the adverse impacts of the novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) to the economy, including jobs and businesses. SBAP grants will support small businesses with five or fewer full-time equivalent employees on the current payroll undergoing financial hardship due to a loss or reduction in revenue directly related to COVID-19. Businesses are not expected to pay back this assistance. Awards are based on the availability of CDBG and/or CARES Act CDBG-CV funds. 

The online link to the Program Application will be activated on Friday, July 24, 2020 at 8:00 a.m. and deactivated on Monday, August 3, 2020 at 5:00 p.m. Applicants are encouraged to start the application as soon as possible to meet the online submittal deadline. 

Applicants will need to submit an application and documentation proving eligibility. Small business owners can review the programs guidelines and eligibility requirements and apply online by visiting https://www.montereypark.ca.gov/1314/COVID-19-Programs
