LA County has extended a countywide curfew within the unincorporated and incorporated areas of Los Angeles County beginning tonight, Tuesday, June 2 at 6:00 p.m. through Wednesday, June 3, at 6:00 a.m.
In a statement provided by Monterey Park Police Chief Kelly Gordon, “the Monterey Park Police Department values the importance of peaceful and lawful protests and stands in unity with our community. I would like to report that there has been no civil unrest at this time and we will continue to provide the exceptional service our City deserves. The safety and security of our residents and business community is our focus and we ask that everyone stay vigilant and report suspicious activity. For your safety and the safety of our community, please adhere to the countywide curfew.”
The City of Monterey Park will follow the County of Los Angeles (https://lacounty.gov/emergency/) in imposing the citywide curfew from 6:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. to ensure public safety across our region. Emergency responders are exempt, as well as those traveling to and from work or seeking/providing emergency care.
