[ARCHIVED] Monterey Park Bruggemeyer Library 2020 Summer Reading Challenge for Children, Teens and Adults

Readers of all ages are encouraged to participate in the Monterey Park Bruggemeyer Library’s 2020 Summer Reading Challenge. This year’s theme is “Dig Deeper: Read, Investigate, Discover!” Thanks to the support of the California State Library and the California Library Association, this year’s program will be hosted entirely online via Beanstack. Beginning June 8, 2020, children, teens and adults can register for the challenge by visiting montereypark.beanstack.org or downloading the Beanstack app. Throughout the summer, participants can keep track of their reading to receive prizes and virtual badges. 

Children’s Summer Reading Challenge 
Children ages 0-12 can keep track of the hours they read or listen to books over the summer to earn prizes and virtual badges. Children who complete eight hours of reading will receive a prize bag. 

Teen Summer Reading Challenge 
Teens ages 12-18 can earn prizes by completing activities and reading or listening to books, comics, magazines, newspapers and articles. Teens who complete eight hours of reading will have a chance to win a grand prize. 

Adult Summer Reading Challenge 
Adults ages 18 & up can earn prizes by completing activities and reading or listening to books, magazines, newspapers and articles. Adults who complete 20 hours of reading will receive a prize bag and have a chance to win a grand prize. 

The Summer Reading Challenge continues through July 24 and is sponsored by the Friends of the Monterey Park Bruggemeyer Library.
