Residents and small business owners who have been economically impacted by COVID-19 are invited to attend an informational webinar to learn about the City of Monterey Park’s COVID-19 Emergency Rental, Small Business, and Utility Assistance Programs launching June 8, 2020. These programs are provided by the City’s Coronavirus Aid, Relief and Economic Security Act (CARES), Community Block Development Grant (CDBG) and Home Investment Partnership Program (HOME) funds through the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD).
The City will be hosting webinars to discuss program overviews, eligibility requirements and the application process. Information sessions will be held via Zoom:
Wednesday, June 3, 2020, at 11:00 a.m. and
Wednesday, June 10, 2020 at 2:00 p.m.
To register for one of these webinars, email Deborah Niblick at dniblick@montereypark.ca.gov or call 626-307-1398. Translators will be available to assist residents and business owners who speak Chinese or Spanish. A brief overview of each of the COVID-19 assistance programs is listed below.
2020 COVID-19 Emergency Rental Assistance Program
Monterey Park residents may be eligible to receive emergency rental assistance under the City’s HOME Program. Residents must meet specific criteria outlined by federal guidelines.
2020 COVID-19 Small Business Assistance Program
Small business stabilization grants are available to Monterey Park small business owners who meet one of HUD’s National Objectives.
2020 COVID-19 Utility Assistance Program
Residents may be eligible to receive utility assistance under the City’s CDBG program. Residents must meet specific criteria outlined by federal guidelines.
Applications for these programs can be accessed online at www.montereypark.ca.gov/coronavirus starting June 8, 2020. Staff will be available to answer questions about these programs until Friday, June 19, 2020 at 5:00 p.m. The deadline to submit online applications is 5:00 p.m. on Monday, June 22 and mailed applications must be postmarked no later than Monday, June 22, 2020.
