Coronavirus/COVID-19 Update: The City of Monterey Park Announces LA County Department of Public Health Moving Into First Stage of Recovery; and Street Sweeping Parking Enforcement Resumes

The City of Monterey Park continues to follow the lead of the Los Angeles County Department of Public Health and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) in implementing protocols to protect the health and safety of everyone in public spaces and in providing accurate and timely updates to the community.

The LA County Department of Public Health announced the following non-essential businesses may reopen as of May 8, 2020 for curbside pick-up with adherence to distancing and infection control protocols. Businesses that may reopen include: bookstores, clothing stores, florists, music stores, sporting goods stores, toy stores; and car dealership showrooms (open for sales with adherence to distancing and infection control protocols.)

Outdoor parks and some recreational facilities are open with adherence to distancing protocols and include golf courses and trails. Playgrounds, picnic shelters, tennis courts and basketball courts at remain closed at this time.

According to the LA County Department of Public Health, “the curve has flattened; however, the COVID-19 pandemic is still in LA County. The Coronavirus is still deadly and capable of quickly taking many lives. As LA County moves into its first stage of recovery, all residents, business owners and employees must continue to observe and practice all COVID-19 physical distancing requirements. We remind all LA County residents - continue to do your part to slow the spread of COVID-19: Wear a face covering whenever you leave home; Wash hands throughout the day; and Stay six feet away from people who don’t live with you.” For more information, please visit www.covid19.lacounty.gov
