On February 9, 2020, at approximately 2:52 p.m., Monterey Park Police officers responded to a traffic collision in the 1500 block of W. Floral Drive. Upon arrival, officers learned two vehicles were involved in the collision. The Monterey Park Fire Department was on scene and transported the adult female driver from one vehicle to a nearby hospital in stable condition. Unfortunately, the adult male driver from the other vehicle succumbed to his injuries at the scene. At this time, his identity will not be released, pending notification of next of kin.
The cause of the collision is under investigation by the Monterey Park Police Department Traffic Bureau. Investigators are asking that if anyone witnessed the collision they contact the Monterey Park Police Department Watch Commander at 626-307-1200.
