On May 6, 2019 at approximately 1:50 p.m., Monterey Park Police Officers responded to the area of Abe Way and Metro Drive in the City of Monterey Park regarding a residential burglary in progress. The homeowner called police when he observed suspects breaking into his residence via his home security camera system.
Officers detained one suspect in a vehicle that was seen leaving the location. Two additional suspects fled the location on foot. Officers on the ground were assisted by a Sheriff’s Department helicopter and were detained by responding officers in the back yards of nearby residences. The suspects were found in possession of property stolen from the location. All three suspects were arrested for suspicion of residential burglary.
The three suspects have had numerous prior contacts with law enforcement for theft, burglary and possession of firearms. Suspects Banks and Atuseri have prior arrests for burglary and weapons charges. Both are on PRCS (AB 109) probation. Suspect Harris is on California State parole for carjacking.
The suspects are identified as:
Rodney Banks, 21, Los Angeles, CA.,
Kefe Atuseri, 19, Hawthorne, CA.,
Jawan Ramon Harris, 22, Long Beach, CA.

All three are scheduled to appear in Alhambra Superior Court on May 8, 2019 for arraignment.
