On December 31, 2018 at approximately 2:33 p.m., Monterey Park Police Officers responded to a call of a robbery in progress in the 2200 block of South Atlantic Boulevard in the City of Monterey Park. The initial arriving officer observed the suspects fleeing from the business and a short foot pursuit ensued. Additional officers arrived and assisted in taking three suspects into custody.
The subsequent investigation revealed that two juvenile suspects and one adult suspect worked in concert with each other to commit a jewelry store robbery. The robbery was captured on surveillance footage and jewelry which was taken from the business was recovered from the subjects. Further investigation revealed the suspects committed two additional robberies earlier in the day in the city of La Puente and San Bernardino.
