Members of the Urban Search and Rescue Regional Task Force 4 returned home today after an eight day deployment in Northern California. Their mission during this deployment was victim recovery following the massive Camp Fire that destroyed the entire town of Paradise, California.
City of Monterey Park Fire Department personnel comprised a total of six of the 29 members of the USAR team from the cities of Alhambra, Monrovia, Pasadena, Glendale, Arcadia and Monterey Park. The team searched a total of 1,100 structures over the course of the deployment with Monterey Park Fire Department Captain Scott Kelley serving at Search Team Manager.
The team returned home today with an initial stop at the Rose Bowl where they were greeted by each department's respective fire chief along with the media.
