On Sunday, July 29, 2018 at 7:58 p.m., the Monterey Park Fire Department responded to 1145 Knoll Drive in the City of Monterey Park for a residential structure fire.
Monterey Park Fire units, with the assistance of Alhambra and Los Angeles County Fire Departments, responded to the incident.
Upon arrival, Monterey Park Fire units encountered a two-story single family dwelling with smoke issuing from a rear balcony. An aggressive fire attack was established with three engine companies, and one ladder truck that enabled the fire to be brought under control in less than 30 minutes.
No residents were home at the time of the fire and no injuries were reported. The estimated cost of damage is $15,000 to the structure.
The Monterey Park Fire Department Fire Investigation Unit investigated the fire and the cause is still under investigation.
