[ARCHIVED] Monterey Park Fire Department Responds to Structure Fire at 331 E. Pomona Boulevard

At 4:03 a.m., Monterey Park Fire Department responded to 331 E. Pomona Boulevard for a reported structure fire. Monterey Park fire units with the assistance of the Montebello Fire Department responded to the incident.

Upon arrival, Monterey Park fire units encountered a detached garage fully involved in fire. An aggressive fire attack was established by firefighters keeping the fire contained to the garage. No residential units were affected by the fire, however, power was lost due to downed power lines. Southern California Edison was on scene and estimated power would be out for approximately four hours. The fire was knocked down at 4:43 a.m.

No injuries were reported to civilians or fire personnel. No residents were displaced by the fire. The estimated dollar amount of damage is to be determined. The Monterey Park Fire Department Fire Investigation Unit investigated the incident and the cause is still under investigation.
