[ARCHIVED] Monterey Park’s 8th Community Beautification Day to be held February 22nd at Highlands Park

Monterey Park, Calif. – February 20, 2014 – Monterey Park’s 8th Community Beautification Day will be held on Saturday, February 22, 2014 from 7:30 a.m. to 12 noon at Highlands Park (Meet at the Picnic Shelter near Copa – 400 Casuda Canyon Drive. Volunteers will be asked to wear their work clothes and gloves to pull weeds, and help paint, picnic tables and playground equipment. The event is open to participants 14 years and older, as well as supervised groups (such as scouting groups); with all participants needing a waiver form completed by the adult or by a parent or guardian for people under 18 years of age. – The form is available online at http://ci.monterey-park.ca.us/index.aspx?page=2091 or at the event. Registration will begin at 7:30 a.m., with work starting at 8 a.m. Because of the overwhelming success and attendance at the previous Beautification Days, pre-registration is requested and space is limited – please contact the Monterey Park Recreation & Community Services Dept. at 626-307-1388 to confirm your attendance.

Students can earn service hours. Juice and donuts will be available in the morning.
