[ARCHIVED] Monterey Park Bruggemeyer Library Presents Documentary Film “My Life in China” by Ken Eng

Film director Ken Eng explores the universal themes of home, exile and belonging in his documentary film "My Life in China" at the Monterey Park Bruggemeyer Library on Sunday, October 2, 2016 at 2 p.m. in the Friends Room.

In 2007, Eng accompanied his father back to his village in rural China and retraced his father's perilous journey in search of a better life. His father was one of thousands to make the journey to America because people were starving in his village. The film contrasts the elusive American dream with life in modern China and the emerging Chinese dream. A brief question and answer with the film director will follow the film screening.

The program is co-sponsored with the Chinese American Citizens Alliance. For more information about the free film screening, call 626-307-1368 and/or follow the library on Twitter @MontereyParkLib.
