Monterey Park Bruggemeyer Library will present two college preparation workshops to assist students and parents preparing for college applications. The workshops are co-sponsored by the Chinese American Citizens Alliance Youth Council and the Chinese American Education Association.
The College Personal Essay Workshop on Sunday, September 11 at 2 p.m. in the Friends Room will include tips on writing personal insight essays for college and scholarship applications. Volunteers will review final drafts of student essays.
Students and parents are invited to attend a College and Scholarship Financial Aid Workshop on Sunday, October 23 at 2 p.m. in the Friends Room. The workshop will present information on government grants, loans, public and private scholarship resources. Strategies on how to apply for scholarships will be shared. Information booklets and pamphlets on financial aid will be available.
