In celebration of Fire Service Day, the Monterey Park Fire Department is hosting an open house on May 7, 2016 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Fire Station 61 located at 350 W. Newmark Avenue. There will be activities for children and adults and entry is free.
Residents can visit the fire house and meet the local firefighters, obtain life safety information, learn about the fire department programs and - in commemoration of Monterey Park’s Centennial Celebration - see a special display of Monterey Park’s first fire engine, a 1924 REO Speedwagon Chemical Fire Engine. In addition, there will be activities for children including a Home Depot craft booth, photo booth, junior firefighter challenge and Jamba Juice will host a fundraising booth for the Fire Explorer Program.
Please join the firefighters for a day of fun, activities, and demonstrations. For further details, contact the Fire Department at 626-307-1262.
