The City of Monterey Park will celebrate the rededication of its iconic and historic Cascades Waterfall with a special ceremony and a Halloween-themed festival on Friday, October 23, from 5 to 9 p.m. The event will feature a magician, balloon animals, game booths, a costume contest, food, music, dancing and fun for the entire family. At approximately 6 p.m. local dignitaries will be on hand to flip the switch to unveil the new multi-color lighting of the waterfall. Other highlights include face painting, jack-o-lantern decorating, a cake walk and stories by the library’s “Book Witch.” The event will be held on the west side of Cascades Park at El Portal Place and South Atlantic Boulevard.
