The Monterey Park Bruggemeyer Library will present a Military Appreciation Program to thank, honor and remember those who served in the military. Guest speakers, a “Salute to WWII Flying Tigers in China” power point presentation, and a film and discussion on Latino WWII veterans will tell the stories, courage and sacrifices of veterans and heroes on Sunday, June 7 at 2 p.m. in the library’s Friends Room. The program will also introduce the public to the library’s resources on World War II history in recognition of the 70th anniversary of the end of WWII.
“Salute to WWII Flying Tigers in China,” a digital presentation of the 2014 traveling exhibit of 200 photographs, will tell the history of the Flying Tigers in China. The exhibit began its tour at the Rayburn Foyer last November in Washington, D.C. and continued on to aviation museums and libraries. The exhibit will return to Washington, D.C. in June where the public can view the history display at the Russell Rotunda.
