Author Nancy Young will present a book talk on her award winning book “Strum” at the Monterey Park Bruggemeyer Library on Sunday, April 12, 2015 at 2 p.m. in the Friends Room. The book talk/book signing event is part of the library’s National Library Week special events.
“Strum,” a sweeping historical fiction novel, follows two classical guitars and the individuals that possess the guitars from the 1800s to the present. Author Nancy Young was inspired to write the book from a classical guitar she bought in Australia and from her travels to over 30 countries. The book has won six national and international book awards since it was published in 2013. “I am truly honored by the recognition ‘Strum’ has received,” said Young. “The book draws on my experiences of traveling, living and working abroad and the people especially artists and musicians I have met around the world. I want people from all walks of life to read my story and appreciate the humanity that binds us together.” Copies of the book are available for purchase and a book signing will follow the author's presentation.
