Event to provide 40 tons of material for Monterey Park residential gardens and landscaping
A free compost giveaway event will be held on Saturday, November 8, 2014, from 9 a.m. to 12 noon at Garvey Ranch Park.
Monterey Park residents should bring their trash bill or photo ID with their home address. Each resident is limited to 30 gallons during the first hour. After 10 a.m., there is no limit while supplies last. Trash hauler Athens Services will be providing the compost as well scoops and shovels but residents will need to provide their own containers.
The compost event will be held at Garvey Ranch Park’s west entrance near 751 S. Alhambra Ave., Monterey Park, CA 91755.
