Hans Liang will be installed as the Mayor of The City of Monterey Park in a ceremony to take place Monday, November 3, 2014 at 6:30 p.m. at city hall. The ceremony will also feature the installation of Peter Chan as Mayor Pro Tem.
Liang was first elected to the city council in 2013 and currently serves as Mayor Pro Tem. He has been active in the community as an Asian Youth Center board member, a past president of Eastside Optimists and as a trainer on adolescent development and communication skills. This will be Liang’s first term as mayor - a position which rotates among city council members every nine and a half months.
The event is open to the public and attendees are invited to stay for refreshments. The installation will be carried live on MPK-TV government access cable TV and via the Internet.
