Monterey Park Lunar New Year Festival
Celebrates the Year of the Dog
Join artisans, food vendors, live performers, merchants
and thousands of your family and friends to welcome the arrival of spring at
Monterey Park’s annual street festival
Celebrate
the Year of Dog with the City of Monterey Park, the Business Improvement
District Advisory Committee of Monterey Park and World Journal Los Angeles as
they co-host the 2018 Lunar New Year Festival celebration.
The
Monterey Park Lunar New Year Festival has something for everyone. More than 250
booths will be occupied by merchants, organizations and food vendors in
addition to live entertainment. The festival will run from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Saturday and 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Sunday.
Over
40 various delicious food booths of Asian and international cuisines are a key
element that should not missed. There will be on-site games and activities such
as “Touch the Lucky Windmill” and receive free red envelopes, carnival rides
and a “Wishing Tree.”
One
of the most exciting events will be the continuous “Lucky Draw” of hundreds of
prizes, including airline tickets to Asia, TV sets, small appliances and many
more.
The
festival will be spread out along five street blocks on Garvey Avenue from Garfield
to Alhambra Avenues, making it one of the largest free street events in
Southern California. While celebrating the Lunar New Year, the festival will
also honor and showcase various cultural elements of Southern California.
