An excavation permit is needed for sewer laterals and other utilities. Applicants must pick-up an original construction permit application form from the Engineering Division Counter, located on the 1st floor of City Hall.
Fees Permit Fee
There is a $107 permit fee plus a $136 per hour inspection fee (minimum 2 days).
The penalty fee is $214 for worked performed without a permit.
Projects under 100 square feet: $500 cash (refundable) or $1,000 bond
Projects over 100 square feet: $5 per square foot (refundable) cash or surety bond (minimum bond requirement of $1,000)
Multiple excavations: $10,000 cash or bond
Bonds are to remain in effect for one year for mechanical compaction and thirty days for slurry back fill.
Minimum of $1,000,000 liability and $100,000 property together with Worker's Compensation. The city must be named as additional insured.
