Home Occupation Restrictions

The following information is some of the residential home occupation restrictions. You cannot:
  • Store any stock-in-trade or equipment at your residence
  • Have employee help (except family members)
  • Use commercial vehicles for pick up and/or deliveries
  • Post signs
  • Commercialize the residential appearance (i.e. through color, lighting, signs, noises, etc.)
  • Use excessive utilities or nonelectrical motor power
  • Use more than one vehicle for the home occupation business (maximum gross vehicle weight is 6,000 lbs.)
  • Have pedestrian or vehicular traffic beyond which is normal in a residential zone
You can:
  • Conduct the home occupation only within a dwelling
  • Use only 25% (not more than 200 square feet) of the dwelling floor area
