Mid-Morning Matinee: Lunar New Year
Tuesday, January 10 at 11 a.m. in the Friends Room
Stop by the library to watch a martial-arts epic and “Rashomon”-style drama about a swordsman who claims to have saved a ruthless Chinese emperor from assassins. This film is rated PG-13 and runs for 99 minutes.
Lunar New Year Firecrackers Adult Grab and Go Craft Kit
January 24-27, with crafting session on January 27 at 2 p.m.
Adults are invited to make Lunar New Year firecrackers. Kits will be available for pick-up through Contactless Checkout starting Tuesday, January 24. To request a kit, call Adult Services. Also, join staff in the Library’s Friends Room on Friday, January 27 at 2:00 p.m. to craft and chat.

Get creative with the Library! Kids ages 5 - 12 will create a hopping bunny to celebrate the Year of the Rabbit! All materials will be provided. No registration is required.

Novices and veterans are invited to join the Monterey Park Bruggemeyer Library’s Dungeon Master for a special Lunar New Year quest of Dungeons and Dragons! This program is for teens and adults.
Teen Lunar New Year Celebration and Movie
Saturday, January 28 at 3 p.m. in the Friends Room
Teens are welcome to celebrate the new year with friends, games, watch a movie featuring the first Asian Marvel superhero and eat Lunar New Year’s snacks.
