Contactless Checkout is now available at the Monterey Park Bruggemeyer Library. Patrons may use the library catalog to request books, CDs and audiobooks for curbside pickup to enjoy at home during the closure of the library facility. DVDs are not available to request at this time. To ensure the safety of patrons and staff, please follow the steps below for Contactless Checkout.
- Place the items you want on hold using the online library catalog, or call the Circulation Department at 626-307-1366 to request items.
- Library staff will prepare your items and check them out to your library card. These items will be available for pick up for 72 hours after notification.
- Library staff will call you when your items are available for pick up. Pick up of materials is available Monday – Friday from 10:00 am–5:00 pm.
- Please call the library when you arrive. Library staff will place your items on a table located OUTSIDE the front door. Remain in your car until library staff has gone inside the library, then retrieve your bag of items from the table. The library is currently closed to the public and you will not be able to enter the building to pick up your library materials. Please respect physical distancing protocols and our zero contact pick up.

For the safety of all patrons and staff we ask that you utilize our outside book return located in the covered parking area next to our back door. This return is open from 9 a.m. on Monday through 6 p.m. on Friday ONLY. All due dates are extended and no late fees will be charged while the library is closed. Returned items will be quarantined for 5 days before check-in.

How many items can I place on hold?
You may reserve a maximum of 50 items using the online library catalog. If you require more than 50 items, please call (626) 307-1366.
When will my items be ready for pick up?
Items that are currently on the shelf will be available for pick up the following business day. Staff will call you when your items are ready to pick up.
I prefer to pick up my items once a week; can you hold my items for longer than 72 hours?
Yes; staff will call you as your items become available throughout the week. We're happy to hold your items longer than 72 hours, but please let us know when you will pick them up.
