MPBL Around Town Pop-Up Library at Barnes Park 

The Monterey Park Bruggemeyer Library is bringing the library to Barnes Park! On Saturdays* from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., read, study or relax in a comfortable outdoor reading area set up between the pool and the playground. Staff will provide access to books for checkout, newspapers to read, free Wi-Fi, library card sign-up, special programs and much more! 

 Join staff for special drop-in programs from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. on the following Saturdays:

  • Saturday, December 4: Tech Help in the Park: Basic Computer Assistance
  • Saturday, December 11: Tech Help in the Park: Learn about Library eResources 
  • Saturday, December 18:  Take or Make Craft: Sock Snowman

* Please note that the Pop-Up Library will not take place on Saturday, December 25 & January 1 due to the Christmas and New Year holiday weekend.

Get Fit While You Sit

Friday, December 10, 10:00 a.m. at Langley Senior Center 

Join staff and practice poses to learn how to maintain flexibility, improve posture and boost memory, concentration and focus with simple brain exercises. Staff will conduct these sessions in English and Mandarin. To register, call Adult Reference Services.

* Please note that class will not take place on Friday December 24 due to the Christmas holiday weekend.

Sock Snowman Adult Grab and Go Craft Kit

December 14-17, with crafting session December 17 at 10:00 a.m.

Adults are invited to make a sock snowman with library staff. Kits will be available for pick-up through Contactless Checkout starting Tuesday, December 14. To request a kit, call Adult Reference Services. Crafters can join staff in Barnes Park on Friday, December 17 at 10:00 a.m. to craft and chat.
