Our Fall Book Club read at the library is Behold the Dreamers by Imbolo Mbue, publication date: August 23, 2016.
The book, a debut novel by Imbolo Mbue is a winner of the Pen/Faulkner Award for Fiction and a New York Times Book Review Notable Book of the Year and was named one of the best books of 2016 by NPR, The Washington Post, San Francisco Chronicle, The Guardian, St. Louis Post Dispatch, Chicago Public Library, BookPage, and Kirkus Reviews.
The novel explores themes about marriage, immigration, class, race and the trapdoors in the American Dream through the story of a young Cameroonian couple making a new life in New York just as the Great Recession upends the economy-- GoodReads.
We will only have 1 meeting to discuss the book and will meet on Monday, September 18 at two different times to discuss the book:
