Plunge headfirst down the rabbit hole and follow
the White Rabbit to the Monterey Park Bruggemeyer Library for a very merry tea
party on Saturday, April 6 at 2:00 p.m. Hosted by the Monterey Park Library
Foundation, the familiar setting of the library will be transformed into a
topsy-turvy Wonderland. The celebration will feature a variety of teas (Drink
Me!), savory delicacies and exquisite sweets (Eat Me!) as well as entertainment
and activities. Dress in your tea party best or mad, foolish attire for all to
admire. Tickets are $50 per person and proceeds benefit the library and thus
the community. RSVP to (626) 307-1269 to reserve a seat or it’s off with your
head! Join us – we’re all mad here!

Among those in attendance were Library Foundation members Bob Gin, Theresa Amador, Dolores Rillos, Alicia Martinez, Carol Sullivan and Mary Ann Garcia-Barlow; Library Board of Trustees Dave Barron, Jason Dhing and Andrew Yam; Friends of the Library members Nancy Gilmore, Lilian Kawaratani, and Rosalie Toltzman; Monterey Park City Council member Stephen Lam; Los Angeles Community College District Trustee Mike Eng and other prominent members of the community. The library raised over $1,000 from this event. Please click on Day at the Races photo for photos of the event.
